Busy May Logs 20+ Responses Per Day Plus Non-Emergency Calls & Visits
As we close out the month of May and prepare to enter the “dog days of summer” we cannot help but be amazed at our member’s accomplishments. Morningside is one of only a few departments that is 100% Volunteer Staffed 100% of the time. May’s numbers make it clear what a feat that is to accomplish.
Our members donated 6,348 hours of their time in the month of May. They responded to 621 runs, which averages out to just over 20 runs per day. The Ambulances logged 297 emergency responses while the Engine Company and Rescue Squad handled 324 responses. Please remember this was all in just 31 calendar days. We were able to attend multiple career days and speak with tons of kids, assist citizens with non-emergency service calls, check smoke detectors in the community, interface with our elected officials, and work toward planning our future. Lots of accomplishments for our members and even more service to be proud of. We are building the next generation of public servants right here in Prince Georges County.
