MVFD Partners with Red Cross, Remains Committed to Reducing Fire Deaths
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal just released the biannual fire death report for the State of Maryland. Unfortunately, Prince George’s County has tied Baltimore City for the most Fire Deaths in the first sixth months of the year across the entire state. The MVFD remains committed to reducing this and is doing everything possible to enhance the services provided to our community and surrounding areas.
We have partnered with the American Red Cross and installed hundreds of smoke detectors in our community during the same time period. We believe in prevention prior to the incident, ensuring residents have properly working smoke detectors to alert them of a fire, residential sprinklers to increase a victims chance of survival and finally effective performance in the time of need. We are committed to the safety of our community and believe that we can improve the lives of our residents through service, both in our delivery of them and their participation in our organization.
