Morningside VFD Rescues 2 from House Fire in 5200 block of Lorraine Drive
Rescue Engine 27 removed victims from a house fire in Temple Hills on Nov. 15. They worked with Engine Co. 823 to rescue 2 victims. Ambulance 827 operated in the Rehab Group, for a total of 8 volunteers responding. Chief Poetker said, “Discipline and preparation for performance yielded two rescues today. I am proud of all my members and their performance. They take pride no matter what responsibility they are assigned. Another example of strong teamwork on the fire ground between all the companies. … Very proud of my members and their efforts, not only when the whistle blows — but when the community needs them, they respond. The Morningside VFD is entrenched in this community and committed to improving people’s lives. These aren’t my words, but rather their actions.”
The next day, those volunteers returned the neighborhood to participate in a door-to-door smoke detector campaign with our PGFD partners. We believe in the community we serve!
