Morningside Remembers 9/11
The events that occurred on September 11th were horrific and from them comes a multitude of stories, which have only been fortified with time. Stories from that day continue to live on, memories are still with all of us and the emotions are still there. We remember those who were taken that day and cherish the ones that are still here.
On September 11th, 2001 Engine Company 271 responded to the Pentagon as well as to the District of Columbia. We were honored to serve in a time of need and continue to do so, day in and day out. Our department has grown since then and many have come to be a part of it. We have members whose loved ones were a part of the 343 FDNY Firefighters taken on that day – they came to Morningside to be a part of us and we are with them on this difficult day. The resilience of the United States still shines today, we are still here serving others and the values of our country live on – no matter who attacks them. We honor today with another day of service, we remember those who perished that day and everyday since in the name of Freedom. God Bless the United States and keep us all safe as we serve.
