City of Laurel 4th of July Parade, Town of Morningside Smoke Detector Campaign
Saturday was a busy one for our Volunteers. We sent the Truck and the Ambulance to the City of Laurel 4th of July Parade, they in turn were awarded the Best Appearing Fire Department. We even ran into an old friend of ours, Senator C. Anthony Muse – Senator Muse has visited the MVFD several times and been there to support us in some of our most challenging times. We applaud his efforts and appreciate his support.
While the units were in Laurel at the Parade, the MVFD participated in another wonderful event. Through a partnership with our NCR Partners, the American Red Cross we were able to organize a smoke detector campaign in the Town of Morningside. Working in conjunction with Mayor Ben Cann, we were very excited to assist in these efforts for our residents. The day was a success and our volunteers were able to demonstrate their pride in their community once again.
