Chloe Day!
On Friday May 27th the Morningside Volunteer Fire Department was invited to assist in a very special event for a very special young lady; Chloe Williams is 6 years old and suffering from brain and spinal cancer. We were invited to attend a Pep-Rally at a local school and were requested to help with transportation. We were able to rally 20 members and took the fleet to go pick up Chloe from her home for her special day. Chloe arrived in style, ridding in the Officers Seat of the Rescue Engine with a police escort from the Town of Morningside Police Department.
The Town of Morningside Mayor Bennard Cann presented a proclamation from the Town declaring May 27th, 2016, Chloe Williams Day. Prince George’s County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor presented Chloe with a plaque making her the Honorary Fire Chief for the Day. McDonalds declared Chloe a McKid and donated $1,000 to her family. Make-A-Wish, Largo High School Marching Band, Largo High School Cheerleaders, and many many more came out to support Chloe today. The love was strong, the performances were awesome and the support was never ending.
We thank Chloe and her family for allowing us to assist in this great event and tip our hats to the faculty, staff and students at Benjamin Foulois Performing Arts Academy for a job well done today. #StayStrong
