In the evening hours of Oct. 8th the Rescue Squad was alerted to respond on the Rescue Local with reported entrapment on Pennsylvania Ave at Woodyard Road in Company 23’s area. Units from the Third Battalion arrived on the scene to find a vehicle off the roadway into a tree with one person trapped. The Rescue Squad stabilized the vehicle, set up lights, gained access to the patient, and began utilizing Hurst Tools to remove the patient from the vehicle. The patient was quickly removed and handed over to awaiting EMS crews. This would be one of many runs for the Rescue Squad that night and the beginning to a long night was just getting started…
