This Time The Rescue Squad Goes To A Fire

Saturday, January 21, 2012 Around 2000 hrs. calls began flooding into the Prince Georges County 911 center reporting Fire Coming From a House in the area of the 7900 blk. of East Barrett Road. Being that the fire was only a short distance from Company 21's quarters, they quickly arrived to find a two story, wood frame, detached single family home with fire throughout the home and showing through the roof.

Rescue Squad 27 was dispatched as the third Special Service and arrived as the second. Chief 27 also responded on the call and was the Incident Commander.  After a quick exterior attack the bulk of the fire was knocked down and crews were able to enter the home.  Once the incident was brought under control the long drawn out process of overhaul and controlling hot spots was completed before returning units.  This was the third fire in less than 30 hrs. for Company 27.
